Girls Lax Super Team -Standard Times

Shelby Hickox, Dartmouth

Junior, Attack

Hickox scored 31 goals and assisted on eight more. Already a dangerous scorer as a sophomore, Hickox improved defensively her junior season and picked up face-off duties due to her superb stick-control. "Shelby picks ball up with one hand," Dartmouth coach Laura Magno said. "If anyone else did it I would yell at them, but she does it so beautifully I don't really say anything."

Kaitlin Rita, Dartmouth

Senior Midfield

After three seasons with the defense, Rita stepped into the midfield as a defensive wing. She balanced defensive assignments with pressing the attack, scoring 13 goals and assisting on another six. "If we had to mark someone man-to-man all over the field, Kaitlin was the one we would put on her," Dartmouth coach Laura Magno said. "She's a great overall player, but also a great defensive player."

Maggie Schoening, Dartmouth

Senior Midfield

The Indians' team leader never left the field this spring. Schoening's 45 points - on 30 goals and 15 assists - ranks second for Dartmouth. Plans to play lacrosse at Bentley College. "Maggie picks up the game and spacing so well," Indians coach Laura Magno said. She's sees the field on offense and creates opportunities for other people, and on defense she anticipates passes. She's able to sit back in the zone and make plays."

Bay State Games Tryouts

1. Southeast Coastal Bay State Team

Tryouts: June 16, 17, 18, 19

Practices: June 24, 26 and July 1, 3, 9

Games: July 10, 11, 12, 13

All tryouts and practices will be at Westwood High School on the turf at 5:00 PM.

Please return uniforms and any equipment you borrowed from the school to Coach Magno in C10, before or after school or during nutrition.

Seniors - remember you can not walk at graduation if everything is not turned in.

Out of Season Lacrosse

Super Juniors Try outs: This Sunday is the Super Jrs tryouts. It is a fun, competitive league that competes in tournaments throughout the summer. It is highly scouted by college recruiters. It is an excellent opportunity to show off your skills and get your name out to colleges.

Banquet - Sunday June 1st at 1pm at the DeMello Family House.

The banquet is a pot luck style affair, where each grade contributes:
Freshmen: Drinks
Sophomores: Salad and bread
Juniors: Main meal
Seniors: Dessert

GIRLS LACROSSE

DARTMOUTH 13, FALMOUTH 6

Maggie Schoening scored four goals, while Jenna Custodio had three goals and two assists, as the Indians outscored Falmouth 8-1 in the second half and raised their season record to 6-10.

"Our defense shut them down. Alyssa Arruda shut down their top scorer," said Dartmouth coach Laura Magno. "They scored 15 goals on us last time. (Our) passing was beautiful, but it all started with defense causing turnovers."

Dartmouth also got two goals each from Cassie Benoit and Hanna Bogen.

The Indians host Martha's Vineyard today at 3:30 p.m.
